X-y=7

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

3 x -1 y = 5 .............1
Total value
1 x -1 y = 7 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -1
Multiply (2) by 1
-3 x 1 y = -5
1 x -1 y = 7
Add the two equations
-2 x = 2
/ -2
x = -1
plug value of x in (1)
3 x -1 y = 5
-3 -1 y = 5
-1 y = 5 + 3
-1 y = 8
y = -8
