9x+11zy = 12y

No, that's not linear because it is of degree 2 since it has a term
in which 2 letters are multiplied together, z and y.

A linear equation can have no letters multiplied together such as x2, xy, etc.

In standard form it is solved for y:

9x+11zy = 12y

9x = 12y-11zy

9x = y(12-11z)
