Simply substitute the expression for  y  from the first equation to the second one.  You will get

4x + 2*(-2x+3) = 12.

Simplify it:

4x - 4x + 6 = 12.

6 = 12.

Could it be so?   -No.

It means that your system has no solution.

Geometrically the original equations represent two parallel straight lines in a coordinate plane that have no intersection - have no common point.
