Rewrite the equation below in general form Ax + By = C
where A, B and C are the smallest integers possible
and A > 0.

y = x +

The LCD of denominators 5 and 17 is 85

Multiply through by 85

(85)(y) = (85)x + (85)

85y = 34x + 10

Subtract 34x from both sides

85y - 34x = 10

Reverse the terms on the left side:

-34x + 85y = 10

Multiply through by -1

(-1)(-34x) + (-1)(85y) = (-1)(10

34x - 85y = -10
