You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can't "solve" it if there are 2 variables x, and y.
If there was just 1 variable, you could solve it.

All you can do with this is get +x+ alone on
one side, or +y+ alone on one side.
Is that what they want?

+2x+%2B+2y+=+-5+
To get +y+ alone on the left side, first
subtract +2x+ from both sides
+2x+-+2x+%2B+2y+=+-+2x+-+5+
+2y+=+-2x+-+5+
Now divide both sides by +2+
+y+=+-x+-+5%2F2+
