x+=+2y
"in four years she will be four times as old as her son was 9 years ago"
shimaran's age in four years -> x+4
shimaran's son's age 9 years ago -> y-9
x%2B4+=+4%28y-9%29
x%2B4+=+4y-36
x-4y+=+-40
As shimaran's age is twice her son's age, 2y is the same as x.
2y-4y+=+-40
-2y+=+-40
y+=+20
