Question 962721: How many solutions does the following system of equations have?
y = -x^2 + 2x + 7
y = -x + 1

Can i please have help with this?

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the two equations on the same xy plane

The first graph -x^2 + 2x + 7 is in green, the second is in blue.

The two graphs cross at two points. We don't care what those points are since they didn't ask what the solutions were. They just want to know how many solutions there are.

Two points of intersection ----> two solutions to the system

Final Answer: 2 solutions (each solution is of the form (x,y))
