You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can do this a couple ways. Let's solve this by substitution. First we take an equation and solve for one of the variables. In this case We're going to use your second equation and solve for y. We'll plug the y value then into the second equation.
Now we'll substitute this for y in the first equation.
Now plug in the x value into either equation to get the y value.
This gives us the solution (1,6).
To check it just plug both values into either equation.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Add 4 to both sides of the 2nd equation. y=2x+4
substitute 2x+4 for y in the 1st equation. 8x+3(2x+4)=26
8x+6x+12=26
subtract 12 from both sides. 14x=14
x=1
substitute 1 for x in the 2nd equation. 2=y-4
add 4 to both sides. y=6
