7/w + 1 = -8
---
7/w = -9
w = 7/-9
w = -7/9
---
but if original equation is this:
7/(w + 1) = -8
---
(w + 1) = 7/-8
w = -7/8 - 1
w = -7/8 - 8/8
w = -15/8
