Question 92525: I am lost on this one
Solve the system by addition or substitution.
20x – 5y = –12
y = 4x + 3
A) (3, 4) B) (-3, -4) C) (3, -4) D) Inconsistent system (No solution)
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Plug in y = 4x + 3
Distribute
Add 15 to both sides
Combine like terms. Since this is never true for any x, there are no solutions.
So the system is inconsistent. This means the answer is D)
