Question 910257: Please help, I have no Idea.
Every Year the price of pots, regardless of size, increase by $2 per Year. If the Cost of buying 4 large pots and 6 small pots was $112 three year ago and it will cost $124 to buy 2 large pots and 5 small pots the next year, use simultaneous to determine the present day cost of each type of pot.

Answer by josgarithmetic(39617)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let b = price of a big pot NOW;
Let c = price of a small pot NOW.
Price increases by $2 each year, meaning price was decreased by 2 dollars each year going
back in time year by year.

PRICES ACCORDING TO TIME
-
____________________3 year ago________now__________next year
Big pot_____________b-3*2_____________b____________b+2
Small pot___________c-3*2_____________c____________c+2

COST three years ago, 4 big and 6 small

COST in the next year, 2 big and 5 small

Simplify each of the linear equations in the variables, b and c, and solve the system of equations.
