Question 8570: How Do I graph this Linear Equation, and find it's slope? The x + y part instead of the basic mx+b confuses me
12x+4y=8
Thanks.
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First convert from standard form Ax+By=C into slope intercept form by solving for y.
12x + 4y = 8 Subtract 12x from each side of the equation.
4y = -12x + 8
Next, divide both sides by 4:
When the equation is in slope-intercept form, the slope is the coefficient of x, which is this case is -3.
