A snack mix is made from peanuts that cost $3 per pound and caramel popcorn that cost $2.20 per pound. The mixture cost $2.50 per pound does the mixture contain more peanuts or caramel corn?

i do not know how to set up this equation but i would guess more popcorn

Use mixture size of 1 pound, for simplicity ( M=1, as the variable used in the lesson ).

In the practical sense, ask yourself if 2.50 is closer to 3 or closer to 2.20? If closer to 3, then more peanuts; if closer to 2.20, then more caramel corn.
