Graph the equation 


A SOLUTION:
This is a linear equation, so the graph is a line.

Make a table of several easy points on the line.
If x = 3, then




The point (3,-3) is on the line.

If x=5, then




The point (5,-2) is on the line. 

If x = -1, then




The point (-1,-5) is on the line.

Now plot these three points on the x-y axes. They should line up so you can draw a line through them.
