Hi, there-- THE PROBLEM: How do you write a linear equation? A SOLUTION: There are many different linear equations, but they all have this kind of form: Ax + By = C A, B, and C are numbers. A and B can be any number, but they can't both be zero in the same equation. C can be any number. Here are some examples: 3x + 2y = 10 4x - 6y = -1 If A is 0, then there is no x in the equation. This is the equation for a horizontal line. Some examples would be 2y = 5 y = -300 If B is 0, the there is no y in the equation. This is the equation for a vertical line. Some examples, x = 3 -7x = 2/3 There is a lot more to linear equations, but this will get you started. If you have a specific problem you are trying to figure out, feel free to email me. Hope this helps! Mrs. Figgy math.in.the.vortex@gmail.com
