Question 821760: can someone explain to me how to complete this question
graph the following system of lineal inequalities
y≥-3
y>5-2x

Answer by LinnW(1048)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y≥-3
y>5-2x
First plot the line y = -3
This is a horizontal line at -3, that is a line that is
3 units below the x axis going left to right.
Now shade in some way the area above this line.
This represents y≥-3 .
Next we need to plot y > 5 -2x .
The first step is to plot y = 5 -2x .
Reorder to get
y = -2x + 5
The slope intercept format for a linear equation is y = m*x + b
where m is the slope, and b is the y intercept.
One point on the line is (0,5) , the y intercept.
To find another point on the line, from (0,5) move right 1
and down 2. This gives us the point (2,3).
Draw a line extending through these points.
Shade in some way the points above this line.
This is plot of y > 5 -2x
Where the two shaded areas overlap is our solution,
but do notice that the line itself is not included
for the second equation.
