Question 813089: More like a rate of change question. I'm a frustrated parent trying to teach a high functioning autistic teen; any help would be appreciated.
Problem: Dexter pays $10 towards the initial cost of his phone plan plus an additional cost for sending each text message. He pays $10.70 in all for 7 text messages that he sent during this month including the initial cost.
How much does Dexter pay for each text message sent from his phone?
And...Write an equation that represents the relationship between the number of messages sent, "n", and the monthly cost, "c".
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find anything in relation to this problem.
