Question 804225: a school puts on a play. the play costs $1.200 in expenses. the student charge $4.00 for tickets. there will be one performanceof the play in an auditorium that seats 500 people. what is the domain of the function that shows the profit as a function of the number of tickets sold?
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the profit function is a function of the number of tickets sold, then the domain is the set of integers bounded below by the least number of tickets that could possibly be sold and bounded above by the most number of tickets that could possibly be sold and excluding any number of tickets value in that interval that would make the function undefined. Hint: You can't sell a negative number of tickets. Also, while it is possible to sell more tickets than you have seats, doing so would be a highly risky strategy.
