a+b = 5000
Adding -b to both the sides,
a = 5000-b
Substituting this in th second equation,
0.08(5000-b) = 0.06b - 20
==> 400 - 0.08b = 0.06b - 20
==> 400 + 20 = 0.06b + 0.08b [adding 0.08b + 20 to both the sides]
==> 420 = 0.14b
==> 420/0.14= 0.14b/0.14
==> 3000 = b
So a = 5000 - b
= 5000-3000
= 2000
Thus a = 2000 and b = 3000
