Y=0.5X+4 NOW SUBSTITUTE (0.5X+4) FOR Y IN THE OTHER EQUATION & SOLVE FOR X.
2(0.5X+4)+2X=2
X+8+2X=2
3X=2-8
3X=-6
X=-6/3
X=-2 ANSWER.
Y=0.5*-2+4
Y=-1+4
Y=3 ANSWER.
PROOF
2*3+2*-2=2
6-4=2
2=2
