x-y=6, x=y+6
2x=y+4 now substitute (y+6) for x in this equation & solve for y
2(y+6)=y+4
2y+12=y+4
2y-y=4-12
y=-8 answer.
2x=-8+4
2x=-4
x=-4/2
x=-2 answer.
proof
-2-(-8)=6
-2+8=6
6=6
