Roy and Steve have the same number of coins. Roy has only dimes and Steve has only quarters. If Steve has $1.80 more than Roy does, how many coins does each have?

Quantity Eq:: d = q
Value Eq:: 25q = 10d +180 cents
------
Substitute for "d" and solve for "q":
25d = 10d + 180
15d = 180
d = 12 (# of dimes Roy has)

q = 12 (# of quarters Steve has)
