y=2x+5 now substitute (2x+5) for y in the other equation thus:
6x-3(2x+5)=6 now solve for x
6x-6x-15=6
0=-15+6
0=-9 no solution for x thus no soltion for y either.
Thus no single value for x or y will satisfy these two equation as demonstartated by the graphing of these two lines. That is no intersection.
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions y = 2x +5 and y = 2x +2).

How would I solve this by substitution
6x-3y=6
y=2x+5
------------------------
Substitute for "y" in the 1st equation:
6x-3(2x+5)=6
6x-6x-15=6
-15=6
This contradiction means the system is inconsistent
and has no solution.
