Question 68472: when do you know how to get the x intercept and the y intercept ?
thanks dianna
Answer by rmromero(383) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When the graph intersects an axis, the coordinate of the intersection is called an intercept
For x - intercept, the graph intersect the x-axis at point (x, 0) so you will substitute y = 0 to the given equation.
For y - intercept, the graph intersect the y-axis at point (0, y) so you will substitute x = 0 to the given equation.
I hope that helps. :)
