The question is: Evaluate the function for the given value of X.
f(-2) is the value of X.
Im not sure of this is System of Equations but i think its very close to it.

f(-2) means find f(x) when x = -2

x = -2 means that f(x) = 3x^2 + 2 since this is the first piece (when x <= -1)

So...

f(x) = 3x^2 + 2

f(-2) = 3(-2)^2 + 2

f(-2) = 3(4) + 2

f(-2) = 12 + 2

f(-2) = 14
