Question 625491: simplify: (4x + 5y) + (3x+8y)
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(4x + 5y) + (3x+8y)
4x + 5y + 3x+8y
(4x+ 3x) + (5y +8y)
(4+ 3)x + (5 +8)y
(7)x + (13)y
7x + 13y
So (4x + 5y) + (3x+8y) simplifies to 7x + 13y
