Hi,

       |multiplying  thru by 3 to  eliminate the y variable

   x +  3y =  4    

     7x = 7 ,     x = 1  and y = 1    | ()

      8x + 5y = 13  

         |multiplying  thru by 5 to  eliminate the y variable

         23x = 23 ,     x = 1  and y = 1   | ()
