Basically try to rearrange the equation into the form y = mx + b (some people use the letter c rather than b to represent the number part). The m will be the slope and the b will be the y intercept.

2y - 3x + 1 = 0 Add 3x to each side
2y - 3x + 1 + 3x = 0 + 3x
2y + 1 = 3x Subtract 1 from each side of the equation
2y + 1 - 1 = 3x -1
2y = 3x - 1 Divide both sides of the equation by 2

y = 1.5x - 0.5

The number in front of the x is the slope ie 1.5. This means that as you move to the right 1 unit on the graph the graph will move upwards 1.5 units. A negative slope means the graph is moving downwards.
The y intercept is the y value when x = 0. This will be -0.5 ie y intercept is at (0,-0.5)
