Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the slope of any line that is perpendicular to the line through (-3,5) and (4,-6)?
---------------
The slope of the line through the given
points is [5--6]/[-3-4]=-11/7
--------
Any line perpendicular to the given line must
have a slope or 7/11.
---------
Why?
Ans: The product of the slopes of perpendicular lines
follows this rule:
(slope 1)(slope 2) = -1
In your case:
(slope ?)=-1/(-11/7) = 7/11
