: I need help in finding the equation of the line in the standard form with the given conditions.
75. passes through(2,4) and is parallel to the straight line 2x+y=3
77. passes through (3,3) and is paralle to the straight line 6x+3y=9

PLEASE HELP!! I can't find the standard form to work these through. The ans the book has for 75. is 2x+y=8 and 77 is 2x+y=9.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
75) first put 2x + y = 3 in the slope-intercept form, y = mx + b (m is slope)
y+=+-2x+%2B+3. m = -2
The line passes through (2,4)
Use point-slope formula
%28y+-+4%29+%2F+%28x+-+2%29+=+-2
y+-+4+=+-2x+%2B+4
y+=+-2x+%2B+8 answer
----------------
put 6x+%2B+3y+=+9 in the slope-intercept form, y = mx + b (m is slope)
3y+=+9+-+6x
y+=+-2x+%2B+3 m = -2
%28y+-+3%29+%2F+%28x+-+3%29+=+-2
y+-+3+=+-2x+%2B+6
y+=+-2x+%2B+9 answer
