Well, If you have a total and a one-time fee, then the hourly rate would be the coeffecient of your variable (x).
990=65x+340
Then, you solve like an algebra problem, subtracting 340 from both sides...
650=65x
Now, divide both sides by 65, and this will give you the hours of labor provided.
650/65=10.
So, according to this, 10 hours of work were done on the plumbing system.
