I recommend the Elimination Method for this one. The substitution method works best when one of the equations is in the form of x=_____ or y=_____. If both equations are in standard form, as this one, multiply one or both of the equations by "appropriate" numbers so as to add the resulting equations together and eliminate one of the variables. In this case, if you want to eliminate the y variable, multiply both sides of the first equation by 3. If you want to eliminate the x variable, multiply both sides of the second equation by -2.
