If the x was supposed to be in the denominator, let me know and I'll redo it (the LCD would be 16x, if you want to try it yourself.)
Don't let fractions scare you, attack them by multiplying both sides of the equal sign by the LCD (lowest common denominator). That eliminates the fractions so that you can breathe easier. In this case the LCD is 16 because 8,4, and 16 all divide evenly into 16.
