Question 501651: 3x-y=12
11y-2x=5

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 x -1 y = 12 .............1
-2 x + 11 y = 5 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 11
Multiply (2) by 1
33 x -11 y = 132
-2 x 11 y = 5
Add the two equations
31 x = 137
/ 31
x =137/31
plug value of x in (1)
3 x + -1 y = 12
13.26 + -1 y = 12
-1 y = 12 -13.26
-1 y = -1.26
y =5/4
