Answer by tsmith5651(7)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplifying
(x * 1.4) + -1x = 10
Reorder the terms for easier multiplication:
(1.4x) + -1x = 10
Combine like terms: (1.4x) + -1x = 0.4x
0.4x = 10
Solving
0.4x = 10
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Divide each side by '0.4'.
x = 25
Simplifying
x = 25
Hope this is what you are looking for
