Question 37911: This is a toughie, Can you help?
Water pressure (p) in the ocean is 2.3 tons per square inch at a depth (d) of 2 miles and 3.45 tons per square inch at a depth of 3 miles. How do you find the pressure at a depth of 4 miles?
I think you have to write a linear equation; this is what I did when I tried. Please help!
Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P=2.3/2 & 3.45/3 THUS THE RELATIONSHIP OF 1.15 (2.3/3) & (3.45/3)TONS PER MILE THUS @ 4 MILES THE PRESSURE WILL BE 3.45+1.15 OR 4.6 TONS.
