YOU ARE PERFECTLY CORRECT IN YOUR ANSWER.
COMMON FACTOR NEEDS 2 EXPRESSIONS..YOU FACTORISE EACH SEPERATELY AND THEN FIND ANY FACTOR IS COMMON?
HERE YOU HAVE ONLY ONE EXPRESSION.AND YOU FACTORISED CORRECTLY..THAT IS ALL TO IT
SUPPOSE THERE IS ANOTHER EXPRESSION LIKE SAY...Y^2-2Y+1,WHICH IS EQUAL TO
(Y-1)^2...SO YOU CAN SAY Y-1 IS A COMMON FACTOR BETWEEN THE 2 EXPRESSIONS
