2x%2B3y=-4 multiply this equation by -3
-6x+-9y+=+12 now add the first equation to this one
+6x+-4y=+11
-----------------
+-13y+=+23
y+=+-23%2F13
Use this value for y in one the two original equations and solve for x
the resulting x,y pair is the solution
