How do you solve systems by graphing... for example (2x+2y=5 & y=x-4)What would the steps be to solving this (or any) problem.
------------------
These are straight lines (linear equations) so 2 points each is sufficient.
2x + 2y = 5
Pick 2 values for x and find y, or vice versa
x...y
0...5/2 --> (0,5/2)
4...-3/2 --> (4,-3/2)
Plot the 2 points, draw a line thru them.
-----------------
Do the same for the other equation.
Where they cross is the solution.
The intersection is the pair (x and y) that fit both equations.
