Question 272054: (2,4),(x,8)m=-2
how do you find x or y?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(2,4),(x,8)m=-2
-2=(8-4)/(x-2)
-2=4/(x-2) cross multiply
-2(x-2)=4
-2x+4=4
-2x=4-4
-2x=0
x=0
(2,4),(0,8) ans.
4=-2*2+b
4=-4+b
b=4+4+8 the Y intercept.
y=-2x+8
