Question 263606: I need to graph on a plane. y>-1. Where do I begin?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I need to graph on a plane. y>-1
---
You never directly graph an inequality.
You graph the boundary of the inequality which is the EQUALITY.
Graph y = -1 as a line passing thru all points where y = -1
Graph that boundary line as a dashed line because it is not
the graph of your problem.
----------
Your problem says y is Greater than the boundary y-values.
So, shade the half-plane ABOVE the boundary line.
---
That shaded area is the graph of your problem.
