Distance moved by the train travelling due east = 40T miles
Distance moved by the train travelling due west = 30T miles
Since they move in opposite directions,
the distance between them in T hours = 40T+30T = 70T miles
If the distance between them is 245 miles, then
70T = 245
T = 245/70
