You have 450 ft of fencing to enclose the walkway. What is the maximum width of the walkway?

Let x = the walkway width
Then the overall dimensions, including the walkway:
(2x+95) by (2x+65)

The perimeter: 2L + 2W = 450:
therefore:
2(2x+95) + 2(2x+65) = 480
:
Simplify, divide by 2
(2x+95) + (2x+65) = 240
:
Remove brackets, group like terms
2x + 2x + 95 + 65 = 240
