Question 251025: if 12 horses are entered in the derby in how many ways can they finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?
Answer by blwinbbbles(106) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since a horse can only hold one spot then:
12 horses for first
11 horses for second
10 horses for thirds
so it would be 12 x 11 x 10 = 1320
