Question 246080: 3X-2Y=10
Y=5X-20

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3X-2Y=10
Y=5X-20
substituting 5x-20 for y in the first equation
3x-2(5x-20)=10
remember minus times a minus is a plus
3x-10x+40=10
-7x=-30
x=-30/-7=(-1)/(-1)*30/7=30/7=4 2/7
factor second equation
y=5(x-4)
substitute 4 2/7
y=5*(2/7)=10/7
