Question 24494: 5x-3y=-11
x-2y=2
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x-3y=-11
x-2y=2
First of all you need to solve one equation for one of the variables;
x=2+2y
Now substitute this for x in the other equation;
5(2+2y)-3y=-11
10+10y-3y=-11
10+7y=-11
7y=-11-10
7y=-21
y=-3
Now that you have y use that in the next equation to find x;
5x-3(-3)=-11
5x+9=-11
5x=-11-9
5x=-20
x=-4
Hope you understand
