Use the intercepts to graph the equation

Step 1. Intercepts means one of the coordinates is zero. The y-intercept "b" occurs when x=0 or at point (0,b) and the x-intercept "a" occurs when y=0 or at (a,0)

Step 2. At x=0, then x+3y=6 or -0+3y=6 or y=2 after dividing by 5 to both sides of the equation. So we have (0,2) as one point

Step 3. At y=0, then x+3y=6 or x+3*0=6 or x=6. And we have another point at (6,0).

Use these two points (0,2) and (6,0) to graph as shown below:
