3%28x-2%29-2x=x%2B5

You are correct!!!

Multiply out to get rid of the parenthesis.

3x-3%2A2-2x=x%2B5

3x-6-2x=x%2B5

3x-2x-6=x%2B5

x-6=x%2B5

-6=5 Same as yours. You are correct.
