Add the two equations to solve for "y":
3y = 10
y = 10/3

Substitute into either of the two original equations to solve for "x":
x = 2y-1
x = 2(10/3)-1
x = 20/3 - 3/3
x = 17/3

Ans: (17/3 , 10/3)

Multiply the 2nd equation by 3 to get:
3x+4y = -11
