8x+2y-7=0........................eq 1
-2x-1y+2=0---->y=-2x+2...........eq 2
:
take y's value from eq 2 and substitute it into eq 1
:
8x+2(-2x+2)-7=0
:
8x-4x+4-7=0
:
4x=3
:
x=3/4
:
y=-2(3/4)+2=1/2
